The First Meeting
Sarah and Joey connected on Hinge. Sarah noticed Joey's pics on the site, and she made the first move asking Joey about him holding a snake. They talked for hours that evening and realized there was something special there.
December 30th, 2024
The First Date
After their first conversation on Hinge, Joey asked Sarah out for Dinner. Dinner was wonderful and they didn't want the evening to end, so they decided to take a stroll and spend a bit more time getting to know each other. That first date quickly transitioned to a second date 2 days later, and this trend continued as they began to prioritize time together over the coming months.
Spring 2025
Moving In Together
In Spring 2025, Sarah packed up her things and moved into Joey's apartment in Lakeland — a city she already knew and loved, making it feel like coming home. The apartment was clean but barren — not a picture on the wall, not a throw pillow in sight. Sarah wasted no time making the space feel lived-in, filling it with warmth, color, and décor that turned four walls into a home.
January 24th, 2026
The Proposal
On January 24th, 2026 — exactly one year to the day — Joey had the whole anniversary planned: brunch, a lake walk, massages, and dinner at Bern's Steakhouse. Everything felt like a normal anniversary, which was exactly the point. He led her to Hyde Park, one of her favorite spots, got down on one knee, and she said yes. As it turned out, they weren't the only ones celebrating — it was Children's Gasparilla, and the newly engaged couple toasted their future surrounded by the city's smallest and most enthusiastic pirates.
